Blenda Montoro Photography bio picture
  • Hello There!

    I'm a Kauai based fine art photographer, originally from Peru (South America). Before I came to Kauai I studied photography while in Santa Barbara, California. When I was little I used to complain about not being gifted in the Arts because I didn't seem to develop a talent for drawing. With time I learned there are many different types of art out there, photography has been a medium through which I have been able to express my creativity. Through my artistic photojournalism I like to capture those unique and inspiring moments that create the true impression of a wedding or event. My goal is to help you relive the spontaneity, joy, emotion, and ambiance of the memorable day with images that never cease making you smile.

    I treat every event as unique and inspiring, and devote myself to the responsibility of capturing that through pictures. Through hard work, effort, and experience, I search for those natural, unanticipated moments that are at the essence of real emotion. I believe the quality and sensitivity of my work are going to satisfy not just your expectations, but also your dreams.

    My work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, Pacific Weddings Magazine, Magnolia Rouge, Buzzfed and Wedding Wire Award Winner since 2013 and various other wedding publications online and on print. Focusing on my client relationships prior to the wedding, I am able to weave details and personality into my photos to create timeless works of art.
    My niche became weddings in 2007 after realizing my passion was capturing this deep bond and commitment between two individuals.

    With warm aloha,

    Blenda Montoro Phototography.
    Creating weddings with style for the classic, chic and contemporary bride and groom.

Cook Islands – Rarotonga

The best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been and the memories we’ve made along the way.

I’m going to keep this post, short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking :)  Ektar by Kodak is one of my favorite types of film and all of the images you see were captured with Ektar.  Ten weeks pregnant with our second child, our toddler Mateo and my hubby went to the Cook Island’s with the intention to: explore, surf (for my husband) meet amazing people, and get to know their culture. We were so blessed to know someone who was born and raised on this amazing island called Rarotonga. Our dear friend Ariki Foster happened to be there during the time of our visit and we got to meet his adorable family and friends who made our trip unforgettable! Kiorana Cook Islands … until we meet again :)

Aloha New York! – Kauai and Destination Wedding Photographer

New York has been on my mind for a long time :) So when we were hired for a wedding in Chicago we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the “Concrete jungle where dreams are made of!” (I love Alicia Keys) As we were exploring and getting into the NYC culture we met Diego and Natalie, high school sweet hearts who will be tying the knot in the Dominican Republic (where Natalia is from) coming up soon! We thought it would be fun to take pictures near the cutest Zoo, Central Park Zoo :) We started near the little post office and then we went to central park for some fun photos of their engagement. I hope you enjoy this romantic session in one of my favorite cities!

Aloha New York and hope to see you soon!

Something Blue … Maggie and Marc { wedding }

I LOVE brides like Maggie! She likes to keep it real and we connected immediately when we spoke over the phone :) Besides loving her tattoos on her feet,  (which I think is rad and I am sure it hurts)  I love the facts that she loves blue as much as I do ;))) I love how all her guests were wearing colorful and fun clothing. (btw I know I use the “I love” word to much so bear with me, lol ) I love when couples are spontaneous and fun and Maggie and Marc were not the exception, the groom even climbed on a tree! I could keep going about these two but I will conclude by saying that they are perfect for each other!

Megan and Eli Romantic Wedding at Tunnels Beach

Megan and Eli were married at Tunnels Beach this past Summer and I feel so happy to have been part of their wedding day. They  happen to be one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever had the privilege to photograph.  What I loved about them is how easy going they were even when it started raining right after they said  “I do”   Not to mention how easy it was to convince them to shoot their wedding with film, I really love when my clients trust me :)))  Last but no least they were so blessed with a double rainbow right before they went to their reception party!
